New Zoo Street iPhone/iPod Touch Homescreen Icon

For all of my iPhone/iPod Touch readers out there, I have just made an homescreen icon. What does it do? It is a one touch button to Zoo Street. To add the icon follow these instructions.

  1. On your iPhone, go to a page in Safari that you'd like a custom iPhone home screen icon for.
  2. Find and select this bookmarklet in your iPhone Bookmark menu.
  3. Enter the URL where your custom iPhone icon exists.
  4. Click the + icon on your iPhone Safari bottom menu.
  5. Select "Add to Home Screen".
  6. Preview your custom iphone home screen icon.
  7. Shorten the name to "Zoo Street" or whatever you like.
  8. Click "Add" to put it on your home screen.

Thursday, April 17, 2009

I plan to work on the backend of the website this weekend. If you visit and nothing is here or another error prompt, just know I am working on it. Also, if you know a simple way to change the name of the root folder so the linked content knows the root folder has changed. Let me know.

I found this on the internet. Maybe some of my homebase readers are interested.

I came across this fun online game, "My Brute." Click here to fight my character. I challenge you.

Now I must get back to my taxes.

The Zoo Street characters, Elephant and Giraffe, are trying to take over the comic strip and kick me out of a hobby. See what they have been doing in their spare time.

Happy Mardi Gras and Peaceful Ash Wednesday from the Crescent City. Sorry for not updating last week, I've been a bit busy. Busy with beads. How cool would it be if there were Zoo Street throws or doubloons? I'll get on that for next year.

I am going through the process of coming up with a logo for Zoo Street. I have done about four different ideas that stand about the hundreds of crap logos I have sketched, but those four just aren't quite right, even though I am getting closer. Why am I rambling, because I am making a call of entries. If you read Zoo Street and know how to use and have access to professional graphic creation programs, you can email me for a creative brief or just send me your logo sketches.

I am tired of looking at this Frutiger Extra Black in black. Let's get some fun in this cyberspace.

I have spent most of the day updating my address book and deleting old emails. I came across this online quiz. someone sent me three years ago, (yikes). The quiz is about if you speak Yankee or Dixie, i.e. y'all or you'uns, yins? The U.S. is big and we all speak differently.

I was at Is It Funny Today.com and came cross a hilarious comic, called Cheer Up Emo Kid. The title alone makes me laugh. The art reminds me of John and John, but the writing is refreshing with jokes and social commentary that I have not seen in a while.

I discovered a new comic today, entitled The Pursuit Of Mandy. It seems to be about a girl, Mandy, who is either a an adult or a young girl, but still has contact with her childhood and imaginary friends. It is colorful and playful. I would say it is a bit like a cross between, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends and Rose Is Rose. Check it out.

I want to announce how I have been updating, because I know it is not Tuesdays and Thursdays like the website reads. I used to be spend Sundays making Zoo Street and post them as the week went on. That was not as much as fun as it was when I first started Zoo Street in 2005, even though it was way more efficient. The last few weeks I threw caution to the wind and updated it as I made them, which I was unoffically going for an every otherday or MWF schedule. For those of you that are reading this Zoo Street will be updated often and pretty frequently. How frequent? At least, three times a week, and that includes weekends.

This is the Zoo Street Country Reader Update:
I would like to welcome Australia, Austria, Hungary, Italy, Romania, Spain, Turkey, Vietnam to the Zoo Street community. I am always pleased to have new readers, especially from across the global. Sixteen countries down, only 179 to go.

ZOO STREET is back and with a new look! This new look was supposed to be released on its one year birthday. Through complications with my hosting company I lost my previous domain and any connection with my readers. This return has been long, two years long. It is good to do this again.

Back in New Orleans.

Been Movin'
I now live in San Francisco. This last week has been a mess. I spent that last couple of days becoming familiar with it. It is nice and I like it. I apologize for the delay of updating but this is the first chance I have had. I'll update again on Thursday.

Evacuating NOLA
I am back home in Dallas, which is why I did not update on Monday. Monday I was evacuating from Hurricane Katrina leaving New Orleans, where I live.

Here is Rhino. He is rough and tough and not to be reckoned with, or at least that's what they think. Animals are scared of other animals and fear is funny.

The first date Zoo Street is online.
